Introduction to The Hollywood Bible

The Hollywood Bible is a delightful and insightful discussion of how many movies relate to themes in the Bible and later Jewish and Christian traditions. It thus serves as a wonderful teaching tool not only for a serious discussion of these religious traditions, but also for important issues in our lives as a whole.”
— Rabbi Elliot Dorff, PhD. Rector and Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, American Jewish University, Los Angeles, CA. Author of Matters of Life and Death: A Jewish Approach to Modern Medical Ethics and A Living Tree: The Roots and Growth of Jewish Law (with Arthur Rosett)

“Rabbi Royi Shaffin in The Hollywood Bible has chosen the cinema as an object lesson for theological discussions knowing well that movie producers often use this popular medium to share their opinions about the human condition and to question the Divine. The Jewish influence on the cinema cannot be understated as so much of what we call ‘Hollywood’ has been a Jewish industry and as such an expression of contemporary Jewish thought.” — Reverend Mark Jenkins,
Media Pastor and Executive Producer of “The Victory Hour”, Grove Avenue Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia, Executive Producer of “A Nation Remembers.”
